Jennie Brown Obituary

BROWN, Jennie Lee On Saturday, (November 1, 2008) Jennie Lee Brown, 106 years old, entered into eternal rest at Wintonbury Care Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Cuthbert, GA on July 31, 1902 and resided most of her life in Hartford. Mother Brown was a cherished, faithful and life long member of Hopewell Baptist Church. During her years as a member of the church, she served on the usher board, sang in the choir and volunteered endlessly when ever called on. She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter, Rosalind Poole, Bloomfield; grandsons, Stanley Poole (Margaret), San Antonio, TX, Ronald Poole (Jennifer), Bloomfield, Attorney Anthony Poole (Sabrina) Gurney, IL; granddaughters, Rev. Delores Goode, Albuquerque, NM, Priscilla Poole Rawles (Lewis), Windsor, Maxine Neal (Howard), Bloomfield and Joyce Brown, Bloomfield. Jennie was blessed to be the head of our six generation family. She left behind 80 great, great, great, great, great grandchildren. Including nieces Willa Womack, Bloomfield, Evelyn Knight, Hartford; nephews, Jack Hartfield, Bloomfield, Larry Hartfield (Anita), Windsor, Theodore Owens, New Britain and Evertett Mitchell, Hartford. A host of loving relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her mother, Charlotte Moreland, a founding member of Hopewell Baptist Chruch; six sisters and two brothers; a daugther, Charlotte Moreland Brown; sons-in-law, Arthur Brown and Herman "Casey" Poole; granddaughter, Ronda Alexander Angus. Funeral services will be Monday, November 10, 11 a.m. with calling hour at 10 a.m. at Hopewell Baptist Church, 280 Windsor Ave., Windsor. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Bloomfield. Fuqua Funeral Service, 94 Granby St., Bloomfield has charge of arrangements. The family wants to extend our appreciation to the Wintonbury Care Center and staff for their support.
