I met Jerry in 1972 when From Israel With Love was in Miami at the Beach Theater. I replaced the trombone player who had to return to Israel. I played the trumpet for about 4 or 5 months at the Beach Theater on Lincoln Road in Miami Beach. It was the best of times. Jerry and Gina couldn't have been nicer. So sorry to hear of jerry's passing. He was a total gentleman.

I was fortunate to come to know Gina and Jerry during their time in Boulder. They were some of the kindest, most genuine people I'd ever met. Jerry's love of food was something to behold when sharing a meal. I have nothing but fond memories of many such meals, and will never forget when he made pancakes for me and my kids. It's long overdue, but I'm deeply saddened to hear of Jerry's passing. I can only offer my sincere and heartfelt condolences to Gina and the rest of the family.

My father had not seen his childhood friend Jerry since right before Jerry went into the Army and my father went into the Marines. He talked about him all the time. 70 years later and a Forbes article, I was able to contact Jerry and connect the two of them. What little I knew of Jerry was that he and his family sounded like the sweetest people on earth. My father was able to talk with Jerry every couple of weeks for a little over a year. I absolutely loved it and dad was thrilled.
RIP Mr. Lapin....love to all of the family.

I worked for Jerry a very long time ago in Boulder, Co and for his brother Al Lapin, Jr in Los Angeles. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.
