Jerome C. Salad

Jerry Salad, 90 years of age, of West Hartford, passed peacefully on January 21, 2023. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Gertrude (Cutler) Salad. Jerry enjoyed golfing with his buddies and family at Rockledge Golf Club where he was affectionately known as the Mayor. He loved nothing more than running golf events and soaking in the camaraderie with his mates. He lived and long a wonderful life entirely in this area and was a lifelong supporter of the Red Sox and the UConn Lady Huskies. Jerry was the proud owner of Jerry's Auto Parts and prior to that, he was a principal with his family members at Handy Auto Parts. He is survived by his son, Robert Salad and his wife, Phyllis of Linwood, New Jersey, his adoring grandchildren, Michael Salad (Jennifer) of Parkland, Florida and Emily Pantilione (Michael) of Cherry Hill, New Jersey and his precious great-grandchildren, Leo, Capriana, Josh and Julia. Jerry was predeceased by his loving wife of 64 years, Irma, and his son, Mark. He was also predeceased by his brother, Marvin ("Babe"). Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at the Cutler Family Circle Cemetery, Hurlbut Street in West Hartford.
