MONICO, Joan (Dziubek) Joan D. Monico, 65, of Bristol passed away peacefully Wednesday (June 30, 2004) at the Bristol Hospital, she was the wife of Alfred A. Monico, Jr. Joan was born in West Rutland, VT on May 26, 1939 the daughter of Agnes (Potowniak) Dziubek and the late Joseph Dziubek. She moved to Bristol at an early age and attended local schools, St. Stanislaus R.C. School and Bristol High School. She worked for 39 years at Bristol Savings Bank and briefly at Webster Saving Bank. Joan held the position of secretary to the president of Bristol Savings Bank for over 20 years, in charge of social events as well as financial responsibilities. All who knew her at the bank will remember her vivacious and friendly personality..the girl with the beautiful smile. Her favorite charity was Bristol Boy's and Girl's Club. She was a life time honorary member at Pequabuck Golf Club and at one time she held the office of President of the Pequabuck Golf Club Women's Organization. Joan had a passion for golf, enjoyed golfing with her husband and her friends. In recent years Joan enjoyed vacationing on Marco Island in Florida. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Church. Besides her loving husband of over 43 years Al, and her mother with whom she had not only a mother/daughter relationship but her best friend she leaves a brother, Joseph Dziubek, her mother and father-in-law, Alfred and Jennie Monico; her sisters-in-law, Barbara Krol and Linda DiYulio and her husband, Roy; her aunts and cousins whom she loved. Joan will be remembered and missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. As Joan leaves her family and friends to meet her Lord, her pain and suffering will be gone. Their memories will sustain us through this sad time. The funeral will be held on Saturday at 9 a.m. from Dunn Funeral Home, 191 West St., Bristol to St. Stanislaus Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, in Bristol.
