John Charpentier Obituary

John M. Charpentier, formerly of Wethersfield passed away suddenly on April 26 of a heart attack. He was born in Hartford, CT, son of the late John H. Charpentier and Regis (Fitzmorris) Charpentier. He graduated from Wethersfield High School and Amherst College. John was a free spirit with many interests. John had a variety of jobs but his true passion was golf. He was a golf caddy on the PGA circuit for many years as well as a caddy in regional tournaments. This enabled him to travel extensively and make many friendships throughout the country. John is survived by his siblings: Ellen Charpentier of Tolland, Amy Knous (husband Fred) of Portland, Phil Charpentier (wife Jing) of Palm Beach Gardens Fla, Carol Charpentier Pace (fiancee Willliam Luckey) of Portland; a nephew James Pace (girlfriend Dana Baio) of Wethersfield and several cousins. He also leaves numerous friends, many in the golfing community. A private memorial will be held at a later date. Those that wish may make a donation in his memory to The First Tee, 55 Golf Club Rd. Cromwell, CT 06416.

Saddened by the news, John was a long ago close friend of mine, a teammate on the Wethersfield High School golf team, and one the guys I hung out with. RIP John.
