CIARCIA, John N., Sr. John N. Ciarcia, Sr., 87, of Unionville, husband of the late Virginia M. (Pzynski) Ciarcia, died Tuesday, (April 6, 2004) at New Britain General Hospital. John was born In New Haven, and was the son of the late Nunzio and Josephine (Vinci) Ciarcia. He worked as an operating engineer for the International Union of Operating Engineers Local #478. John was a member of St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Unionville, Fourth Degree - Knights of Columbus, and the B.P.O.E. #957, both of New Britain. John is survived by four sons, Edward Ciarcia and his wife, Connie (Wassmer) of Manchester, George Ciarcia and his fiancee, Barbara Nanfito of Cheshire, John N. Ciarcia, Jr. of Old Lyme, Robert Ciarcia and his wife, Sherrill (Ziegler) of Winsted; three daughters, Lorene Peronace and her husband, Donald of Southington, Mary Ann Ciarcia of Unionville, whom her father John lived with, Catherine Pasler and her husband, Gary of Unionville; a brother, George Ciarcia of Middletown; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, John was predeceased by his infant son, Joseph; two brothers, Mario and James Ciarcia; and a sister, Mary Burak. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Liturgy of Christian Burial, Monday, April 12, 10 a.m. at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Rte. 4, Unionville. Committal service and final resting place will be in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Drive, Wallingford, CT.
