I remember like yesterday so many sledding trips down the hill...coming in to uncle John & aunt Jane always having a smile for us... fast forward to Richie's(?) wedding--Uncle John trying very hard to set me up with a 'nice' guy in the service.
Uncle John I have all fond memories of you and you will be greatly missed.

We were so sorry to hear of Mr. Gunther's death and also that the weather prevented us from attending his funeral. He played an important role in our family as teacher, coach and friend. Please accept our sincere condolences. Love and best wishes, Ann Hejna

I was so sorry to hear about Mr. G's death. Even though it's been years since we have seen him, the memories he helped to create at Coventry Lake have lasted a lifetime. Their home was a second home to us. We will always remember his t shirts with plaid shorts. We are deeply sorry and the Family has our thoughts and prayers. The Tully's.

Mr. Gunther was my swim coach at WWHS for three years. He was a natural leader inspiring us to face all challenges both athletic and academic with hard work and resolve. What made him so special was that he accomplished this with a great sense of humor and with respect and acceptance for all who wanted to participate. I offer my deepest condolences to the Guntur family.

Mr. Gunther was a teacher who you respected. His caring ways made you want to work hard in his class. I later worked with him as a colleague and found him to be knowledgeable and truly a friend. May he rest in peace!
John will be missed by many of his former students and friends.
