John Schofield Obituary

John J. Schofield, age 89, husband of Alice Schofield since 1953, of Old Saybrook, CT and Burke, VA passed away on November 5, 2019 in Virginia with family by his side. He was born July 20, 1930 in Goshen, NY. John graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in 1952, received a Master's degree from RPI in 1958, and an MBA from the University of Connecticut in 1967. He was a Registered Professional Engineer. He was employed by Chandler Evans Corp. in West Hartford, CT and retired in 1993. Mr. Schofield was a veteran, having served in the US Navy. A long-time resident of Connecticut, Mr. Schofield lived in Glastonbury and Old Saybrook since the 1950s. He was a devoted husband and father, and will be missed dearly by his wife, Alice, his children Kathy Dwyer, John Schofield, Alison Steckowski, and his 7 grandchildren. Visitation will be on November 16, 2019 from 12-2 pm at the Swan Funeral Home, 1224 Boston Post Rd, Old Saybrook, CT. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his memory may be made to: Destroyer Escort Sailors Association (DESA) Post Office Box 488 Henderson Harbor, NY 13651
