Jordon Higginbotham Obituary
Jordon Hughes Higginbotham, 21, of East Hartford, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2014 in East Granby as a result of injuries sustained from a car accident. Born in Hartford on January 26, 1993, son of Diane O'Neal of East Hartford and Travis Higginbotham, Sr. of Windsor, he had lived in Hartford, Windsor, and Broad Brook before moving to East Hartford eight years ago. Jordon attended Clover Street Elementary School in Windsor, Metropolitan Learning Center in Bloomfield, and East Hartford High School and recently had been enrolled in courses at Capitol Community College in Hartford. Earlier this year, Jordon took a position at the Dollar Tree Warehouse in Windsor managing inventory. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing video games, listening to music, especially his favorite rapper Yo Gotti, and watching his favorite football team, the Kansas City Chiefs. He was always very approachable and could make anyone laugh. He did things in his own way and was always a trendsetter earning him the nickname "Chief" by his close friends and family. Most of all, he will be remembered as a wonderful son, nephew, cousin, and grandson. He leaves to mourn his passing, his mother, Diane O'Neal of East Hartford; his father and stepmother, Travis and Stacy Higginbotham, Sr. of Windsor; his brother, Travis Stacey Higginbotham, Jr. of East Hartford; his maternal grandparents, Fred and Penney O'Neal of East Hartford; his paternal grandmother, Mary Higginbotham of Cary, NC; two stepbrothers, Tyane Lewis and Camoy Price; a stepsister, Robi-Ann Thompson; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. His family will receive friends on Monday, September 29, 10-11 a.m., followed by a Homegoing Service at 11 a.m., at The House of God Church, 2149 Main St., Hartford. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Carmon Windsor Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. For online condolences please visit, www.carmonfuneralhome.com.

Diane, Travis Sr, Travis Jr, Penny, Fred, and other family. I am so sorry for your loss. Jordan will be missed greatly. Both your boys were always so nice and well behaved, at least for me. I remember when they were younger and they would call in the middle of your appointments to let you know they were getting the bus. That seems like yesterday. I know this won't be easy for you. Diane, I so sorry for your loss. Jordan will always be in my heart, he made me laugh at you when he was younger saying he liked my driving not yours and was glad I drove when we went to Yankee Candle. That always will make me laugh when I think of him. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Diane, our hearts are truly heavy at this time. There are no words to truly express our sympathy for you and your family. Please know your baby has gone back from whence he came by The Father. He started as a twinkle then a precious gift as a baby and grew into a wonderful young man. Gone way too soon. None of us know the day or hour when we are to depart. Jordan is more than alright now. He has beautiful wings laced out in a style all his own. "Chief", as he was adoringly called is at peace. Believe it. You don't have to be strong as you always are. The Lord is more than able to carry you as per the one set of footprints in the sand when you just can't seem to make it. Only He knows what you are feeling. Please know that we are here for you as you are always here for us.
Father God, Lord of all that is holy, please watch over our friend and her family and comfort them in their hour of unimaginable pain. May they take great comfort in knowing you have all the answers and the healing for their broken hearts. Lord we know you and only you have the power and are on always on call. Lord, please let them know that even when their is no strength for utterance you see, hear and understand their every need, want and desire. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
