Joseph Bannon Obituary
Joseph L. Bannon, Jr., 73, lifelong resident of West Haven entered into rest on March 15, 2015. He was a son of the late Joseph L. and Anna Stevens Bannon Sr. Joe is survived by his sisters Suzanne (William) Boyce, Rosemary ( the late Edward) Zavarella, Joanne (James) Johnson, Marymargaret (the late James) Szczesiul, Sheila (Michael) Holt, Patricia (Gerald) Gallicchio, a brother Peter (Judy) Bannon, 18 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. Joe retired in 2004 from the West Haven Board of Education where he was employed as a custodian for over 40 years. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed finding many treasures along the West Haven beaches. Visitation will take place WEDNESDAY (TODAY) from 4 to 8 pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the green. Prayers and remembrances will be shared at 7 pm. The procession will leave the funeral home THURSDAY morning at 10:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Victory Church at 11 o'clock. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery. PLEASE OMIT FLOWERS. We worked with Joey in the gymnasium at West Haven High for many years. He was always a joy to be with and to talk to on a daily basis. I know he enjoyed his retirement even though it was relatively brief. Godspeed, old friend !

I remember Joe's great love and gift for fishing on a boat trip our church took from Pt. Judith. May God's peace attend his passing, and be also with Pete, Judy and the whole family.
