Joseph Bernadino Obituary

Joseph N. Bernadino, 87, husband of Ingeborg (Papen) Bernadino, passed away May 22, 2018 in Hartford Hospital. He was born in New Britain on April 24, 1931, son of the late James and Marjorie (Springer) Bernadino. Joseph was very proud of his military service, he was decorated with the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Bronze Star Medal for his distinguished military career. He went on to work in the State of Connecticut Corrections Department, retiring as the Chief Fiscal Officer. Joseph loved to read and instilled a lifelong love of fishing and the ocean in his son. His family will miss his support, love and strength of character. Besides his wife, he leaves his son Joseph Bernadino, Jr and his wife Nancy of Stamford, his daughter Norma Nevers of Wethersfield and his grandson, Thomas J. Nevers, M.D. of Long Island, NY.
