Joseph Grano Obituary

Joseph J. Grano, Sr. 83, of Hebron formerly of Hartford, husband of the late Joan B. (Phelps) Grano, died Wednesday (July 9, 2003) at his home. Born in Cheyenne, WY he was the son of the late Nicholas J. and Angelina (Oliveri) Grano and lived in Hartford for most of his life before moving to Hebron. Prior to his retirement he was a self-employed contractor. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army. The patriarch of the Grano family, he was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his six sons, Joseph J. Grano, Jr. of New Vernon, NJ, Nicholas Grano of Windsor, VT, William, Rodger, Christopher and Clint Grano all of Hebron; three brothers, Victor Grano of Columbia, Anthony Grano and Roger Grano both of Wethersfield; two sisters, Ann Matteis of Florida and Nancy Tarquinio of Hebron; twelve grandchildren; and one great grandchild. He was predeceased by a sister, Rose Drena and two brothers, Albert Grano and Nicholas A. Grano, Jr. The funeral is Saturday at 9:15 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Augustine's Church, 10 Campfield Ave. Hartford. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford, with full military honors. Calling hours are TODAY from 4-8 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel.
