KOKOSZKA, Joseph L. 
 
Joseph L. Kokoszka, 87, husband of Mary (McGovern) Kokoszka of Middletown, passed away at Middlesex Hospital on Monday, (January 7, 2013) surrounded by his loving family. Joseph was born in Middlefield on July 10, 1925, the son of the late Louis and Katie (Hajec) Kokoszka. He was self-employed as a builder. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Catholic War Veterans Post 1166 and past State Commander. Joseph was also a member of the Polish Knights, the VFW and the American Legion, Post 75. He was a communicant of St. Mary of Czestochowa Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Joseph of Middletown; daughters, Mary Pat Coburn of Middletown, Maureen Goff and her husband Bryan of East Haddam, Anita Kokoszka of Middletown and Kathleen Wescott and her husband Timothy of Colchester; a brother, Stanley Kokoszka of Framingham, MA; five sisters, Mary Mucha of Deep River, Anna Jarvis of Hazardville, Irene Catalano of Middletown, Camile Gagliardi of Wallingford, Rita Adams of Texas; seven grandchildren, Colleen, Andrew, Noah, Nathaniel, Zachary, Emily, Abigail and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters, Jane Cyrul, Genevieve Barchewski, Charlotte Tewksbury; two brothers, John and Chester Kokoszka. 
The Catholic War Veterans will have a service at 5 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown, on Monday, Jan. 14, 2013 at 10 a.m., followed by a Funeral Liturgy at St. Mary of Czestochowa Church at 11 a.m. Burial with military honors will be at the State Veteran's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4-6 p.m. Those who wish may send memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, 825 Broad St., I-91 Tech Center, Rocky Hill, CT 06067. Dear Mrs K, MaryPat, Joe, Anita, Maureen & Kathleen,
Please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of Mr. K.    My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.   Although mom and I couldn't make it to the funeral because of illness, my son-Matthew, was one of the altar servers and was there to represent our family.
