Dear Mrs. Murphy,
It has been a long time since we saw Lauren's Dad as well as you, but I do remember what a warm man he was and how kind he was to all of us when we saw him at any of the Gtown visits or when we came to CT. I hope you are hanging in there. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Mrs. Murpy: I was a co-captain with Joe of the 1959-60 Bates Varsity Basketball team. "Murph" was an unforgetable team mate and friend. I shall always cherish his memory. My heart goes out to you and your family.

Dear Anne,
I am saddened to hear of Joe's passing. I was also a member of Bates class of 1960, and my husband Jerry, who passed away less than two years ago, was Joe's roommate at Bates along with Jim Gallons. You and your family are in my prayers, that the Lord will comfort you and give you peace in this difficult time.

Dear Anne, Pam, Karen and Lauren: I was so very sad to hear about Joe. I will never forget his many kindnesses when Jack died and he was one of a few people who took the time to gently comfort my young children at the time. He was such a gentleman and such a gentle man who loved his family so. My prayers are with all of you at this very sad time. I know he will forever be in your hearts as you have made so many memories over the years. My love to all of you, Jeannine

I was very fortunate to have worked with Joe as a member of the CAACE Bd of Directors. He was one the most decent and honest men I have ever known. And, he was a Red Sox fan! Bless you in this difficult time.
