Earning Joe's trust as a leader was one of the highlights of my professional career-he was a mentor and role model. He will always be part of the Connecticut Certification Board.

You could always count on Joe for a smile of support, especially when it came to digging down deep to operate new found ways to assist the lives of humans affected by substance abuse, which is to say about 100% of us! Had the high honor of working side by side with Joe when MCCA assisted the Non Profit Development Corporation of Danbury to establish Vet House, Danbury's transitional residence for 10 formerly homeless veterans. 10 years later Vet House proudly stands tall now under the ownership and successful operation of MCCA. I shall forever appreciate Joe's feisty spirit and can-do attitude. His was a will to protect and fight for the underdog!

Joe is an inspiration to many. I had the honor to work for him. Years later, he helped me when I began running my own treatment center. He is a true advocate and had a strong faith and sense of hope. My thoughts and prayers are with his family
