Josephine C. Cassarino

1926 - 2017

Josephine Concetta (Gigliuto) Cassarino, 91, of Wethersfield, beloved wife of the late Sebastian Cassarino, died peacefully at home on Sunday, December 31, 2017. Born in Hartford on May 4, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Lucia (Macca) Gigliuto. Josephine retired many years ago and was formerly employed by Nielsen Tool & Die Company. She was a member of the St. Lucy Society and the Old Elm Senior Citizens. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Josephine will be forever missed by her daughter, Lucille Palowski and husband Joseph J. Palowski, Jr. of Wethersfield; the love of her life, her grandson Joseph J. Palowski, III and wife Tiffany and two cherished great-grandsons, Michael and William Palowski. She is also survived by two sisters, Mary DiPietro of Old Saybrook and Josephine's twin sister, Vincenza "Zena" Scotello of Newington, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was sadly predeceased by her beloved son, Santo "Sammy" Cassarino; her sister, Concetta "Connie" Fiore-Scalzo and her brother, Dominick Gigliuto. Calling hour will be Friday (January 5) from 10-11 a.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield concluding with a prayer service at 11 a.m. Burial will be private.
