Judith Hart Obituary

If you ever needed any help with your garden, Judith Callahan Hart (born August 27, 1939) was the one to call! You knew her as Judy and her green thumb was well known about the town of Granby, where she grew up and lived for most of her life. She passed over to a new garden on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the age of 77 and will be a blessing to those who need weeding done, this was her 'mediation'. Her spirit will live on in her 5 Children, 14 Grandchildren, and 5 Great Grandchildren whom she adored and loved. She was a fabric artist and created hundreds of beautiful hand designed quilts which she shared with her family and friends throughout the years. Judy loved music and dancing. She was not shy about dancing anywhere (grocery stores, beaches, every single party) and in her last couple years at MeadowBrook of Granby, she captivated the staff with her wily ways. Her favorite place was the ocean. When her children were younger and still living at home, she would pack up the station wagon and take all 5 to the beach each weekend; tents, coolers, sleeping bags, each trip was an adventure and the family still shares the stories. Judy was an avid supporter in the AA community, she helped many through difficult times in their lives during her 30 years as a member. She was always available with a listening ear and offered common sense wisdom to life and its dramas. As a family we would like to thank the extremely competent staff at MeadowBrook of Granby for their kindness and caring for Judy during her last days. They went above and beyond to ensure her comfort and well-being and brought peace and consolation to the family. She is survived by her children, Kathy and Ed Voskowsky, Timothy and Robin Lambert, Bonnie Lambert, Patrick Lambert, and Michael and Kristen Lambert; 14 grandchildren, Lindsey Voskowsky, Casey, Gabrielle, Timothy, James, and Dylan Lambert, Kailee McGeer, Sara, Rebecca, Kevin, Brian and his wife Mandy Lambert, Spencer, Chase, and Ethan Lambert; five great grandchildren, Aisley, Rosie, Jacob, Delilah, and Silas Lambert; and many nieces, nephews, friends and family too numerous to list. She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Nancy Cerra and Gail Caye. Her family will receive friends on Thursday, December 22, 4-6:30 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 6:30 p.m., at the Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook St., Granby. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. For online condolences please visit, www.carmonfuneralhome.com.

My heartfelt condolences go out to Judy's family. She was a friend and confidant to me for many years and will be sorely missed. I will always remember all the fun times we had whether it be on retreat or up in Vermont or many other excursions we endured through the years. I haven't seen Judy in a couple years but will always have fond memories of time spent with her. She was always so much fun...oh the stories we could share! Heaven has certainly been graced to have gotten Judy as one of it's angels. Peace be with you. Love and hugs, Wende

Judy was my first introduction to PHILS brothers. We played cards for pennies at salmon brook and had a memorable night. Judy made me feel welcome with her smiles and laughter. Loved my sister in law.
