Julius Watstein Obituary

WATSTEIN, Attorney Julius Atty. Julius Watstein, 74, of Misty Meadow La., Hamden, devoted husband of Eunice (Rashba) Watstein, died at Yale-New Haven Hosp. on Tuesday (October 14, 2008). Born in New Haven, Sept. 26, 1934, he was a son of the late Atty. Harry and Tema (Brochin) Watstein. Beloved father of Jane Boyarsky of Cheshire and Amy Solomon of New Jersey; dear brother of Atty. Herbert Watstein of Bethany and Dr. George Watstein of North Haven; cherished grandfather of Carly and Danielle Solomon, Gabriella and Brandon Boyarsky. Julius Watstein graduated cum laude from the University of Bridgeport where he was awarded the Prestigious German Club prize. In 1981, he graduated from the University of Connecticut Law School and was awarded a Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree. That same year, he and his brother Herbert Watstein co-founded Watstein & Watstein, P.C., in Bristol, a recognized Connecticut trial law firm where he was a lead attorney. He was a member of the American Bar Association, Connecticut Bar Association, and the Hartford County Bar Association. Funeral Services at the Robert E. Shure Funeral Home, 543 George St., New Haven Friday at 12 Noon, with Interment Services to follow in the Beth Israel Cemetery, Derby-Milford Rd., Orange. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Prostate Oncology Research at Massachusetts General Hospital, Development Office, 165 Cambridge Street, Suite 600, Boston, MA 02114, and Prostate Oncology Research at Memorial Sloane-Kettering Cancer Center, P.O. Box 27106, New York, NY 10087-7105.
