Katherine Reynolds Obituary

Katherine Diane Brockmann Reynolds, 55, of Charlottesville, VA, passed away Friday, (November 7, 2003) at the Martha Jefferson Hospital. Born June 4, 1948, in Dallas, TX, she also claimed residences in Wichita Falls, TX, Ladson, SC, Poquonock, Hartford, East Haddam, Moodus and Colchester, as well as Tom's River, NJ. She finally settled in Virginia in 1992, where she claimed she must have lived here in a past life, she loved the area so much. Before going on medical disability in 1986, Ms. Reynolds had been an employee with Xerox Education Publications in Middletown, where she coordinated hardcover book production and advertising brochure mailings in their Children's Book Club Division. In Charlottesville she volunteered with the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and sang with the Sweet Adeline's. In Fluvanna County she acted, produced plays and was Secretary/Treasurer with the Persimmon Tree Players and volunteered at the Lake Monticello Fire and Rescue Bingo Hall. She was preceded in death by her mother, Elwanda Holland McGowan, her father, Kenneth August Brockmann and her brother, Paul Dennis Brockmann. She is survived by her son, U.S. Army Sgt. Adam Towne Reynolds, stationed in Hawaii; and by her siblings, Michael Gene Brockmann of Lawton, OK, Karen Lynne Bednarz of Windsor, Patrick Kevin McGowan of Windsor Locks. A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, November 14, in the Chapel of the Hill and Wood Funeral Home with the Rev. David Flack officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Hospice of the Piedmont, 1490 Pantops Mountain Place, Charlottesville, VA 22911.
