Kathleen DeStephano Obituary

Kathleen M. DeStephano, 67, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on November 29, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital. She was born in Springfield, MA, daughter of the late Edward, Sr. and Gertrude (Partridge) Smaha. Kathleen was a graduate of Fermi High School in Enfield, and had worked at Crand's Candy Castle and JCPenney in Enfield. She is survived by her brother, Edward Smaha, Jr. of Enfield; sister, Elizabeth Smaha of Anchorage, Alaska; and nephew, Edward Smaha, III of Somers. She was predeceased by her longtime companion, Joseph Uchneat. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary Church, 42 Spring St., Windsor Locks, CT. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Windsor Locks, CT. There are no calling hours. A special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Johnson Memorial Hospital and St. Francis Hospital for all of their care and support. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd., Newington, CT 06111.
