Kathleen Goldstein Obituary

Beloved mother and grandmother, Kathleen "Kathy" (Barone) Goldstein of Lake Mary, Fla., (formerly of South Windsor, CT and Brooklyn, NY) passed away Thursday morning, Nov 26, 2020 due to complications of Covid-19 at the age of 73. Kathy was born Feb 21,1948 in Brooklyn, NY to loving and devoted parents; Katherine I. and Peter F. Barone. As an only child she was a cherished gift to her parents, and then later to her family and friends throughout her gregarious, glorious and fun-filled lifetime. She was unmatched in her kindness, beauty, loving, lightheartedness, laughter, zest, and endless energy for life. She enjoyed teaching ballroom dancing and spending quality time with her family, as well as her long list of adoring friends. She was an avid animal lover, and volunteered her time at several shelters, and was never far from her beloved poodle, "Winston." Kathy was the gracious and devoted mother to Richard W. Goldstein and Jennifer E. Goldstein, as well as loving grandmother to Nicole I. Goldstein. She also leaves her adoring and devout fiance, Richard Donofrio. She will be eternally loved by family and friends. Due to restrictions, memorial services are delayed. "We are born of love; love is our mother." - Rumi

Hard to believe it's been nearly 5 years, and I knew Kathy since Brooks and Harris days. I do think of you often, you are definitely not forgotten but live on in heartfelt memories of some fun times along with your side kick Gayle. Whether it was pizza lunches, garage sales, antique shops or a get together at your house it was always a good time.
Your are missed, your friend

Wow- literally just yesterday I was telling my friend about my friend Kathy - who passed away - just yesterday - and now to read this - I guess she and I are connecting in a different dimension. She is missed - and remembered very lovingly - I mentioned how she was my favorite Female Lead - we danced all over together -had a ball - I never danced with females before and yet it was fun with Kathy - here I am almost 5'12" and she still got her arm over me - it was so much fun - fun and joy and love that I miss still!!~ RIP Kathy~

Words cannot express the sorrow I feel of the loss of such a dear and wonderful friend. We were friends for over 30 years and went on some incredible adventures together. She was one of the most amazing people I had ever known. Always kind, giving, compassionate, adventurous, intelligent, loving and always there when you needed her. My heart goes out to all who were blessed to know her and have her in their lives. Sending love and prayers to her family and friends. I know you´re dancing in heaven my beautiful friend. I will forever miss you.

51 years ago Kathy and I were very young and pregnant neighbors in Brooklyn who became best friends while awaiting the births of our sons. Richard for her, Jeffrey for me one week later, and both nervously and sometimes hilariously navigating the care and feeding of these newborns. Lots of Lucy/Ethel moments! We & our then husbands remained friends for a few years but somehow fell out of touch. There was so much about Kathy that I admired and tried to emulate, especially her style of dress and her incredible knack for decorating and her way with animals. I don't know what made me look her up on FB today, after all these years - this is not at all what I expected to see. So sad and so sorry that I missed out on what could have been a longer friendship with such a wonderful person.

Kathy and I danced and became great friends. She took care of me when I was I'll. She and I laughed and commiserated. I'm beyond shocked and saddened. She was my favorite hustle GIRL leader. She was so dedicated to her kids, her Rich, her puppy's and living a good loving fun healthy life. I'm so terribly sad. She is missed. RiP!!! XoAdrian

Kathy was a dear friend of 38 years. Although we lived miles apart, we spoke weekly. I will miss our longtime friendship, our yearly visits and weekly talks, her laughter, and always, her words of wisdom. She was a beautiful person inside and out. My sincere condolences and heart go out to her children Richard and Jennifer, and granddaughter Nicole, and to her fiancé Rich. She has touched many and will be missed.

This is such shocking and sad news. I had the privilege of being a friend of Kathy's for over 40 years and what a wonderful person. She was a rare combination of being a really great person, tons of fun, great sense of humor, very sincere and honest, very caring of her family and friends, selfless and had great beauty and style on top of all that. She will be missed by many and my heart goes out to her fiance Rich, her two kids Jennifer and Richard and her granddaughter Nicole. The part of my heart that isn't broken goes out to you all.
