Kenneth Gregor Obituary

Kenneth "Ken" Gregor, 59, of Newington, CT passed away peacefully after fighting a long illness on Monday, April 26, 2021 surrounded by his loving children at Hartford Hospital. Ken was born in Pittsburgh, PA on June 13,1961 to the late Edward Gregor and Evelyn Connors of Wethersfield, CT. Ken is survived by his mother Evelyn Connors, three children, daughter Kelly (Gregor) Haines and son-in-law Andrew Haines of Newington, son Jeffery Gregor of Bloomfield, daughter Amy Gregor of Bloomfield, granddaughter Naomi East, and their mother Mary Ann Grasso Gregor of Newington. Ken is also survived by his four older brothers, Martin Gregor of New Haven, Douglas Gregor of Newington, John Gregor of Marlborough, and Daniel Gregor of Bloomfield, and his stepsister Mary Young of Wethersfield, as well as eight nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by John Connors, his stepdad. He moved to Newington at age 6 and remained a lifelong Newington resident, a town that he loved. Ken graduated from Newington High School, class of 1979. He loved playing cards, fishing, going on family vacations to Cape Cod, going to baseball games and was an avid fan of the Hartford Whalers and Pittsburgh Steelers. He was a talented storyteller and would amuse family and friends with his anecdotes and spirited sense of humor. Ken was a history buff that loved trivia, puzzles, television, and movies. He was a wonderful cook and most proud of his award-winning chili. He had a long career as a supervisor at the US Post Office. He availed himself to early retirement to take care of his ailing mom and stepdad and remained their caretakers until his stepdad passed away. He will be sorely missed by all. Funeral services are private at the request of his family. Cremation Society of Connecticut has care of the arrangements. Please visit www.cremationct.com for online condolences.

So sorry for Ken's family and friends on his passing.
I have the fondest memories of Kenny from our younger years, especially from hanging around at the old Elm Hill School on Maple Hill Avenue.
Funny how we both ended up living on or right off Maple Hill. I would often see him walking on the sidewalk, only chatted a few times... but beeped and waved to each other occasionally.

Sorry for your family lost. I will always be grateful to Kenny he on several occasions drove down from Connecticut with Aunt Evie and Jack to visit my parents. I know it brought much happiness to my mother and dad. Thank you Kenny
