Kenneth Snow Obituary

Kenneth "Ken" Frank Snow, 90, of West Hartford, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2023. He was born on May 8, 1933, in Hartford, CT and was the son of the late Pauline (Seam) and Frank A. Snow. Ken graduated from Hall High School in 1951 and was a member of the Army Military Police Reserve during the Korean War. He married his beloved wife Norma (Ford) Snow on September 11, 1954. He worked at the Royal Typewriter Company and later at The Travelers Insurance Co Data Center until he retired. He lived most of his life in West Hartford with his wife Norma, where they raised their two sons, Alan and David. He loved the years spent raising his sons and was proud to have been their boy scout leader and to have seen them both become Eagle Scouts.

Ken enjoyed his many years with Norma camping, canoeing, golfing, following The Boston Red Sox, trips to the casino and wintering in Florida. He also spent lots of time tending to his large garden, where he loved sharing his prized veggies with neighbors, friends, and family. He was predeceased by both his sons and wife Norma. He is survived by his daughters-in-law, Janet (Alan) Snow and Darlene (David) Snow, both of Hebron; his four grandchildren, Laurie (Sean) Kennedy and Melissa (Robert) Hlasyszyn of Colchester, Linda (David) Bedini Jr., of Columbia and Christopher Snow and fiancé Lindsay Cote of Hebron; and his eight great-grandchildren, Colby, Cadence and Ryder Hlasyszyn, David, Sawyer and Emmett Bedini, and Emma and Claire Kennedy. They all kept him quite entertained with their stories, activities, and artwork. He is also survived by his sisters, Nancy (Baron) Brown, Janet and her husband Marshall Babbitt, of FL, and his sister-in-law, Marjorie (John) Westfall, of CO, and many nieces and nephews.

Our family will miss him dearly but take comfort knowing he felt fortunate to make it to 90 and is now with his wife and sons. At Ken's request there will be no calling hours and burial will be private. The Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford, CT has care of arrangements.
