SARKOSI, Kurt E.
Kurt E. Sarkosi, age 66, of Berlin, died Sunday at home after a long battle with cancer. Born in Graz, Austria, Kurt served in the Vietnam War in the Army 1st Air Cavalry. He was a longtime member of the Austrian Singing Society Donau Club in New Britain. Kurt was known by the nickname "Xhitrof" to his immediate family (which was comprised of the "Original Four"). He loved animals and reading, took immense pride in his organic garden and created amazing meals for his family and friends (especially soups!) He leaves his wife and devoted caretaker Christine (Staskiewicz), daughter Diana and her longtime partner Manny Meleounis, daughter Rebecca, multiple furry grandkids and relatives in Austria. He will be missed by many others but especially by his best friend Rick Cayer. His family would like to thank all the nurses and doctors who provided such compassionate treatment during the last several years.
At his request there will be no services.
