Laura Franco Obituary



Laura Rose (Landry) Franco, 80, beloved wife of Thomas J. Franco, of South Windsor, died peacefully at Manchester Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, August 12, 2015. Laura was born in Danielson, CT, to the late Joseph and Rose (Caron) Landry. She grew up in Danielson and graduated from Danielson High School. She was married to Thomas J. Franco the love of her life on February 11, 1956 and together they settled in South Windsor, where they have spent the past 58 years. Laura was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and enjoyed travelling with her family, especially to Newport, RI, and Lancaster, PA. She was also an avid sports fan, and loved watching the Uconn men and women's teams, as well as the Boston Red Sox, Celtics, and New York Giants. Laura was a great cook and wonderful homemaker, and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Along with her husband Thomas, she leaves behind two daughters, Kathy Santos of Vernon, and Linda Franco of Manchester; her brother, Joseph Landry and his wife, Sally of Manchester; two grandchildren, Nicolas and Jonathan Caranfa of Manchester; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mr. & Ms. Daniel Delmastro, and sister-in-law, Rita Franco all of East Hartford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am, Monday, August 17, 2015, at St. Margaret Mary Church, 80 Hayes Rd, South Windsor, CT. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in East Hartford. There are no calling hours. At the family's request, donations can be made to the American Heart Association, 1 Union St., Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691, in lieu of flowers.
