Lauren Prokipchak, 34, of Manchester, entered into eternal life Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Manchester Memorial Hospital. She was the beloved daughter of Maureen and Marty Prokipchak of Manchester. She was born in Humble, TX on April 22, 1981 and was raised in Connecticut, moving to Manchester in 1999. She was a graduate of Somers High School; Creative Hair Design of CT; and attended Manchester Community College. She had been a server at various restaurants in the Manchester area. Besides her parents, Lauren is survived by her loving brother, John Prokipchak and his wife Linda of Wethersfield, her loving maternal grandparents, Nancy and John V. Mahon of Souderton, PA, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She also leaves behind her beloved canine companion, Daizy. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday, Nov. 21, at 10:30 AM at St. Bartholomew Church, 45 Ludlow Road, Manchester. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery in Manchester. Visiting hours are Friday from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Watkins Funeral Home, 142 East Center Street, Manchester. A special thank you to the staff of Manchester Memorial Hospital, especially to Erin and Nicole for their wonderful, loving care of Lauren during her stay at the hospital. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Bartholomew Church Memorial Fund or the CT Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT 06111. Dear Marty and Maureen,
Please accept my deepest sympathies for the passing of your daughter. I will forever remember her as the first friend I made when I started working in the cosmetics department at Macy's. I will never forget the joy and excitement in Lauren's voice each time she greeted me. She embraced and encouraged every bit of my creativity, and passion for life, held me up in times of heartache, and never shyed away from supporting me through difficult or painful situations. Our lives led us in different directions, but I was happy to re-connect with her earlier this year, as she loved coming to hear me sing at church. I will greatly miss my friend.
