Laurie Welply

1960 - 2023

Laurie (Fenn) Welply, 63, of Willington, beloved wife of Daniel Welply for 42 years, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Gaylord Hospital. She was born in Manchester on February 2, 1960; a daughter of Raymond and Jean (Vesco) Fenn of Ashford. Laurie grew up in Ashford, attended E. O. Smith High School and was a graduate of the Class of 1978. Laurie's desire to help children and her nurturing personality was what drove her to her career as a Paraprofessional for the Manchester Board of Education.



Laurie is survived by her husband, Daniel Welply; parents, Raymond and Jean Fenn; her son, John Welply and his wife Holly; four grandchildren, Olivia Welply, Celia Anderson, Jack and Sophia Welply; her four siblings, Susan Fenn, Stephen Fenn and his wife Sue, Tracey Hunter and her husband Glenn, and Eric Fenn and his wife Laura; her aunt, Elaine Otter; her four legged friend, Camo, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her daughter Jessica Welply.



An hour of visitation will be held on Sunday, February 26, from 2 to 3 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 3 p.m. at Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83) Vernon, CT. The burial will be in East Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Laurie's memory may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, P.O. Box 947765, Atlanta, GA 30394.
