Leonilde DiMattia "Nina" Lucente

1928 - 2018

Leonilde "Nina" (DiMattia) Lucente, 89, wife of the late Robert C. Lucente, died on Friday, June 22, 2018. Born in Pratola Pelinga Abruzzo, Italia, she was the daughter of the late Quintino and Maria (Pizzoferato) DiMattia. She came to the United States in 1947. Nina lived a beautiful life always with family as this was her greatest joy. Each day she would look forward to spending time cooking and providing for her family, most recently with her cherished great-grandchildren. Nina loved to reminisce what she called her two lives. Singing her traditional songs of Italia and America. She is survived by her son, James Lucente and her daughter, Lydia Asplund and her husband Dave; her five grandchildren, Matthew Stellato, Lisa Seales and her husband Kevin, Shana Cosentini and her husband Rocco, Dustin Lucente, and Mandy Lucente. She is also survived by her five great-grandchildren, Alexander Stellato, Camila Stellato, Bradley Seales, Isla Seales, and Gia Cosentini; her brother Ulderico DiMattia and his wife Ivana and many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loves very much. She was predeceased by her two brothers Salvatore (Victorio) DiMattia and Attlio DiMattia. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service to be held on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 10:15 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden, CT 06450 and at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Angels, Mt. Carmel Campus for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will be in Sacred Heart Mausoleum. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, June 25th from 4 to 7 p.m. She will be forever missed but memories of her will live on.
