Linda L. Chaffee

Linda Lee (Sointu) Chaffee, 79, of Newington, passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at her home with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Donald J. Chaffee, Sr. for 57 years. Born in Norwood, MA, daughter of the late Oliver and Marjorie (Hutchins) Sointu, she was a longtime resident of Newington before recently moving to Avery Heights in Hartford. Linda graduated Springfield College in 1965 and was employed as a medical technologist at Hartford Hospital for over 25 years. She was a parishioner of the Church of Christ, Congregational in Newington and enjoyed playing bridge, Rummicub, doing crossword puzzles and watching Jeopardy. She also enjoyed her book club, traveling and spending time with her family, especially at grandchildren's sporting events and concerts. Along with her husband, she is survived by her two sons, Donald James Chaffee, Jr. of Vernon and Jeffrey Allen Chaffee of Mansfield, MA, and her four grandchildren, Joshua Chaffee, Aaron Chaffee, Laura Chaffee and Christina Chaffee. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, December 8th, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave. Newington. Her funeral service will be held on Friday, December 9th at 10:00 a.m. directly at the Church of Christ, Congregational, 1075 Main St., Newington.
