Lois Lanz Gebler June 15, 1927 - October 5, 2022 Our beloved Lois passed away peacefully on October 5, 2022, at Belmont Village Assisted Living in Aliso Viejo, CA. Lois passed away one day after her husband, Bernie, living the best love story ever, leaving this world together. Born in Ellington, CT to the late Albert and Rose (Marti) Lanz. Lois grew up in Ellington and was the fourth of eight children. She was a homemaker her whole life and enjoyed every minute of caring for others. Lois married Bernard 'Bernie' Gebler in February,1951. They met while Bernie was working at the local grocery store. They settled in Rockville after his Navy service. Lois and Bernie built their forever home in Ellington, right next to the Lanz family farm. In 1990, they retired to Plantation, FL before moving to Laguna Woods, CA in 2007 to be closer to family. Lois and Bernie were married 71 years and did everything together. Lois is survived by her daughter, Jill Harmon (husband Tim) of Corona del Mar, CA, two granddaughters, Molly Finnegan (husband Mike) of Rye Brook, NY, Dr. Kate Harmon of Culver City, CA, and two great grandchildren, Emerson and James Finnegan of Rye Brook, NY. She leaves three siblings Harriet Clarke (husband Herbert) of Ellington, CT, Kerwin Lanz of Morton, IL, and Velda Foxe (husband George) of Carol Stream, IL. Lois embodied kindness, warmth, and goodness with friends near and far. She was immensely proud of her family and leaves nothing behind but beautiful memories. Calling hours will be at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road in Vernon on Thursday, November 10, 2022, from 5-7 pm. A graveside service will be in the Ellington Center Cemetery, 95 Maple St. in Ellington on Friday, November 11, 2022, at 2:30 pm.
