Lonald Robinson Obituary

Lonald Clinton Robinson (Robert/Lonnie) was born on May 6, 1943 in Harrisburg Pennsylvania to Daniel Frye and Roberta Robinson in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He graduated from John Harris High School where he played on the John Harris Pioneers football team. After serving in the US. Air Force and getting married, Robert/Lonnie moved to Hartford Connecticut. He went into the teaching profession at Weaver High School, where he taught auto mechanics and coached football while also working for the US Army Reserves. Robert/Lonnie married Ella Louise Brown in December 1993 and they remained happily married until his passing. He was previously employed by Bear Automotive as a trainer and he retired from A.I. Prince Technical High School. He was an avid fisherman and mechanic. Robert/Lonnie never passed up the opportunity to go fishing, nor was there ever a time when he was not working on someone's vehicle. He never hesitated to stop what he was doing to provide assistance to his family, friends, neighbors and strangers. Robert/Lonnie was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Frye and stepmother, Martha Banks Frye, his mother-in law – Ella Mae Brown-Harper, and his beloved daughter, Danielle Marie Robinson. Lonnie entered into rest on November 21, 2018. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving/devoted wife and caregiver, Ella Louise Robinson; his children, Tracey Lynne Carter, Lonald Clinton Robinson, Jr (Paulette); Rochelle Lynn Scott (Hansley); Yvette Smith (Jeffrey); and Troy Brown; his siblings: Glendon Robinson, Kathleen Porter (Michael); Meta Spivey (Sterling); Barbara Fortune, Twanna Fortune-Jones (John), Gregory Fortune (Denise), Richard Fortune, Lula Fortune, and Francis "Scrap" Fortune, Jr.; 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. I was a new Instructor many years ago and during our yearly meetings I would chat with Lonnie. He was unassuming and respected me when most older teachers did not. I found him a warm and friendly family man and when he retired I would see him occasionally to repair his vehicle. God Bless Lonnie,
