Lucia Bonsal Obituary

BONSAL, Lucia Frances Turner Lucia Frances Turner Bonsal, 99, of Crossroads Place, Waterford, formerly of Bedford, NY, died on Saturday, (April 3, 2004). She was born in 1904 in Los Angeles. She was predeceased in 1970 by her husband, George E. Faithfull, and in 1995 by her second husband, Judge Dudley Baldwin Bonsal, Sr., whom she married in 1983 at age 78. She attended Vassar College and the Sorbonne in Paris. She was a strong supporter and contributor of land and conservation easements to the Mianus River Gorge Preserve, Inc. She is survived by her daughters, Sidney Faithfull Van Zandt and her husband, Sandy, of Noank, Gail Faithfull and her husband, Leo McDonnell, of Madison, and Lucia Faithfull and her husband, James Kelly, of Federal Way, WA, as well as three grandchildren, Douglas Van Zandt, Bayard Keller Faithfull, and Elizabeth Coburn Keller; and her great grandchildren, Gabriel Garcia Faithfull and Bowen R. Keller. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 10, at 11 am at the North Madison Congregational Church, located on Rt. 79, 5.4 miles north of Rt. 95 in Madison. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to: The Mianus River Gorge Preserve, Inc., Gibb House, Mianus River Road, Bedford, NY 10506; or the Groton Open Space Assoc., P.O. Box 9187, Groton, CT 06340; or the CT Quest for Peace, 336 Ridgebury Rd., Ridgefield, CT, 06877.
