Lucretia Kulowski

Lucretia "Pat" (Calvi) Kulowski of West Hartford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 7, 2017. Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Esther (DiLorenzo) Calvi and had lived in the area all her life. Lucretia was a graduate of Weaver High School and received an Associate Degree from Mitchell College. She worked at G. Fox & Co, CVS Stores, and cherished many fond memories of her employment at The Hartford Courant. Lucretia was a loving, kind, and compassionate person and her life was devoted to caring for others. She enjoyed many summers vacationing with her family at Black Point Beach, Niantic. Her sons and grandsons were the greatest joy in her life. She loved to read and cook for her grandsons and each one holds a special place in her heart. A loving and devoted mother and grandmother, she leaves two sons and their wives, Donald J. Kulowski, Jr., and his wife Catherine of Berlin, and Richard J. Kulowski and his wife Maria of Newington; and her grandsons, who were the greatest love of her life, Matthew, Anthony, Andrew, Alexander, Kyle, and Donnie. Lucretia is also survived by her brother Joseph Calvi of West Hartford; and nieces Elizabeth and Penelope Forbes, nephew David Anthony Forbes of West Hartford; and many cousins. She is also predeceased by her sister Florence "Flo" Forbes. Her family would like to thank the staff at Hartford Hospital, BESA Homemakers and Companions, Bloomfield, and Newington Rapid Recovery Rehab Center, Newington, for their great care and support that was given to their mom over the past several months. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday morning, June 12, 2017, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Spirit, Newington. She will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford.
