Following high school she moved to CT to work, before enlisting into the Women's Army Corps (WAC's) On March 8, 1945, Marge was one of 20 WAC's chosen to greet the 275 arriving heroes of Bataan, Philippines (Bataan Death March), on the pier at San Fransisco Port of Embarkation. The WAC's were commissioned to hand deliver letters from the President to the POW's, and be the first to welcome them home.
