Mark Kraczkowsky Obituary

KRACZKOWSKY, Mark P. Esq. Mark P. Kraczkowsky Esq., formerly of New Britain, residing in Newington for the past 28 years passed away unexpectedly on Saturday (March 22 2008). Mark was a graduate of Pulaski High School, Class of 73, and attended the Naval Academy in Annapolis MD before receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of Connecticut in 1977. Mark attended Suffolk Law School in Boston, Mass achieving his Juries Doctorate and became a member of the Connecticut BAR Association in 1980. Mark worked as a clerk in the Connecticut Supreme Court for 28 years and took great pride in reporting legal decisions that could later be referenced as precedent law. Mark was a student of the law and legal decisions. While Mark was talented with varied interests he is best remembered for his ability to assimilate vast amounts of facts and give working explanations to anything with historic nature or content. A focused interest in antiques and period ephemera Mark resided in a historic Victorian home that was maintained with antique pieces collected by him on his many travels to renowned antique markets in Brimfield, MA and Rhinebeck, NY. Mark's avocation was working in the Newington Historical Society and particularly his interest in the "old farm house" of The Deming-Young Farm Foundation. Mark can best be remembered for his love of music, his talent for "name that tune" quoting lyrics, artists and music styles from World War I, through World War II and the entire genesis of Rock and Roll. Mark spoke German and visited Germany while in high school. Mark would have been an accomplished historian without visiting Germany; however, it fueled his passion for understanding the history of the great conflict and gave him personal insight to a time in history that enamored him. With his thirst for knowledge and wealth of historical data Mark was great fun to engage in a game of "Jeopardy"; only if you wanted a thoroughly humiliating experience. Before Alex Trebak would give the "answer" Mark would always have the correct "question" giving the pre-historical condition along with post-historical result. As family and friends we marveled at his historical acumen. No remembrance of Mark would be complete with picturing him in his beloved Miata with the top down, wearing his sunglasses, and singing along with the music, resplendent in his attire. Mark is survived by his lovely and talented daughter Amanda Kraczkowsky and former spouse Nancy (Knapik) Kraczkowsky of Newington. Mark is predeceased by his mother Mary Kraczkowsky of New Britain. His is survived by his father Michael Kraczkowsky, of New Britain now living in West Hartford, and three brothers and a sister with their spouses, Greg and Kathy (Grey) Kraczkowsky of Hartford, Bruce and Nancy (Matascik) Kraczkowsky of Granby, Michael Kraczkowsky of West Hartford, sister Amy and Curt Hull of Land-O-Lakes, FL, and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to acknowledge Annette Griffin for her friendship, kindness and support over the best years; she was Mark's best friend. In lieu of flowers or Mass Cards please contribute any remembrance in Mark's name to: Mental Health America, Attn: Gift Office, P.O. Box 16810, Alexandria, Virginia 22302-0810. Funeral Services will on Friday, March,28 at 11 a.m. at New Britain Memorial & Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave. New Britain. Burial will be at the Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Osgood Ave. New Britain.Relatives and friends are invited to pay their last respects on Friday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. I just found out about Mark's passing and am shocked and saddened. We were high school friends and wrestling teammates. He jokingly referred to me as the "mongoose". I will miss his cheery wit and perspective on life. Mark had a short but well live life. I am sure he is up in Heaven taking charge.

To the entire Krazkowsky Family: I just received the news of Mark's passing (from my sister, Debbie). Needless to say I am in total shock and deeply saddened. Mark and I became good friends in 3rd. grade and stayed that way thru middle college days. Even good friends sometime go their separate ways as time goes on. I will always remember our reel-to-reel radio tapings, numerous board game championships, and just trying to stay clear of Mike and Wally. Greg, Bruce, Mike and Amy you have my sincerest belated sympathy.

Mark and I are good friends from Pulaski High and college days in CT. We traveled to FL on spring breaks and spent many good times together at our respective homes in New Britain. I moved to Georgia about 10 years ago we did speak periodically, but not enough. I am very saddened I won't be able to talk with Mark again. I will miss him and his way of phrasing words & formulating toughts, he was a unique and bright person and someone that meant a lot to me.
My best wishes to Greg, Bruce, Amy and Mr. Kracz.

Our sincere sympathies to the Kraczkowsky family. Carlita and I went to Pulaski High with Mark. Friday night was poker night upstairs at Kracz's and the group of us (Mark, me, Roman, Gary, Rick and others) spent many a fun night together. We will miss you Mark.

My Greek God,
You are in a kinder, more gentle world where only love and paradise
surround you. The wings of the angels will cradle you and let you sing joyfully to your heart's content.
I Love You....
Your Renaissance Lady

How astonishing that Mark had more insight than 99.9% of people into the true meaning of life. More sensitivity in his little finger than most humans have in their whole being. By virtue of his life he was a "rock" of mankind and will be a "rock" in the heavens - laying the ground work for building of a compassionate soul. It's so essential that not a day go by that does not have only a kind or positive thought of him. Really, he was an uncomplicated man. He wanted to be unconditionally and truly loved. And he was.
The Kraczkowsky Family was given a special, special gift when the Lord blessed them with Mark.
