Mark Rosenthal Obituary



Attorney Mark A. Rosenthal of West Hartford, CT died Saturday, July 8, 2017, at the age of 87. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Philip and Frances Rosenthal. Mark graduated from William H. Hall High School in 1947 and continued his academic training earning an undergraduate degree at the University of Connecticut in 1952. He then completed his education with a law degree from Boston University School of Law in 1955. Mark was a member of the Hartford County Bar Association, the State Bar Association of Connecticut and the American Bar Association, and was admitted to practice before the federal and state court in Connecticut. He practiced law in Hartford for over 40 years specializing in Worker's Compensation, Civil Litigation and Personal Injury. Mark was a past member of Tumblebrook Country Club, where he served on the building committee. Spending summers in West Hartford, CT and winters Palm Beach Gardens, FL, he enjoyed his time at the Connecticut shore boating and was a member of BallenIsles Country Club in Florida. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ann; four children, daughter Elizabeth (David) Rosenberg, son John Rosenthal, daughter Carol (Robert) Mohr, son William (Janet) Silverton; and five grandchildren, Allyson and Jacob Rosenberg and Jack, Ethan and Mitchell Mohr. A small, private family service was held on July 11 at Beth Israel Cemetery in Avon, CT. In lieu of flowers, a Memorial Donation may be made to either JDRF (jdrf.org) or to the American Heart Association at (donatenow.heart.org).
