Mark Steinfeld

1947 - 2020

Mark Steinfeld, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, died peacefully on January 29th, 2020. He leaves behind his wife, Barbara Steinfeld, with whom he recently celebrated 50 happy years of marriage, and his three children: Shana and her husband Henry; David and his wife Rose; Aaron and his wife Jen; six grandchildren, Alexandra, Julia, Henry, Emilia, Wesley and Lucy; brother, Alvin Steinfeld and his wife Deena; two sisters, Rhoda Shiff and her husband Menachem and Ina Harel and her husband Yossi; many nieces and nephews including Elana Doron and her husband Ofer of Simsbury; and sister-in-law, Avra Novarr. Mark was born on June 15th, 1947 in Newtown, CT, to parents Syd and David Steinfeld. He received his BA and MBA from The University of Connecticut, where he met his wife Barbara. They have lived in West Hartford for many years. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 31, at 1:00 p.m., in the Chapel at The Emanuel Synagogue, 160 Mohegan Drive, West Hartford, followed by interment in the Emanuel Synagogue Cemetery, 1361 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield. Immediately following interment, the family will receive relatives and friends at The Emanuel Synagogue, 160 Mohegan Drive, West Hartford. The family will also be receiving friends and family on Sunday from 3:00 - 6:00 at 31 Soby Drive in West Hartford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association.
