Martha EHNIE Obituary


News Death Notice

EHNIE, Martha J. (McKean) passed away on Jan. 5, 2013 in her home. She was born June 27, 1915 to C. Floyd and Namah D. (Fatzinger) McKean. She lived in Springfield all her life. On March 22, 1936 she married her High School sweetheart John E. Ehnie. They became members of Trinity Lutheran Church in January 1955. Together they celebrated 76 years of marriage until John's passing in October of 2012. She worked at Crowell-Collier and later retired from Berryhill Nursery after 30 plus years of work. She loved working in the garden, in her yard and cooking for her family. Martha was able to live to see five generations in her family. She is survived by her only child and his wife, Ronald and Helen, grandson and his wife, Richard and Sheri, great granddaughters: Donna (Corey) Adams of Lebanon, Stephanie (Tom) Ioia of Columbus, great-great granddaughters, Grace and Rylee Adams, and Madelyn Ioia. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday January 10, 2013 in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Viewing will be prior to the service from 10-11:00 a.m. with Pastor Roger Herrig officiating. The family would like to give special thanks to their caregivers, Barbie, Sierra, Deb, Bridget and Ashley for all their love and attention that they provided to both John and Martha. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to Community - Mercy Hospice, 444 West Harding Road, Springfield, OH 45504 or Trinity Lutheran Church, 1612 South Belmont Ave. Springfield, OH 45505.
