You don't know me but I was 16 when I started working at Vulcan Radiator on Capitol Avenue. My father was Louis Pakenas a forman in the shop and worked for Earl Faye who worked for Mr. Trachtenburg (Marty). I worked there summers while going to UCONN and this lasted until 1964 when I entered the Air Force. When I returned home in 1968 my father still worked there and eventually got sick and passed away. During his illness and hospital stays Marty continued to have his checks delivered to my mom and this continued for a time after he died. I can't adaquately express how grateful we were for this kind, thoughtful act. My brother and I went and personally thanked Marty, but it obviously was not forgotten. My mom and brother have also passed away and my wife spotted Marty's obituary and let me know. I just wanted to add to the warm caring memories you have of Marty.
May God richly bless and comfort you in your time of sorrow.
