AREL, Mary E. (Cramer) Mary E. (Cramer) Arel, 73, formerly of Northampton, MA died Tuesday, (September 12, 2006) at the Genesis Health Care Facility, Heritage Hall North in Agawam, MA, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. Born in Stonington, Nov. 11, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Paul F. and Alice J. (Maxson) Cramer Sr. She graduated from Weaver High School in Hartford, class of 1950, from the former Cooley Dickinson Hospital School of Nursing in Northhampton in 1955 and from Smith College with a Bachelor of Arts in 1978. Her husband Donald F. Arel died in 1983. She was also predeceased by her brother Thomas A. Cramer. She is survived by her sister Kathleen A. Alpert of Branford, and her brothers, Paul F. Cramer Jr. of Hartford and David G. Cramer of Manchester. The Funeral and Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The Ahearn Funeral Home in Northampton is in charge of arrangements.
