Mary Birch Obituary

Mary Ann (Heim) Birch, 73, of Willimantic, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on Friday, July 6, 2018 at her home. She was born in Rockville, on July 2, 1945 daughter of the late Marshall and Mary Ann Heim. Mary was raised in Ellington. She was employed by the U. S. Postal Service as a rural carrier in South Windsor for over 36 years. Mary is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law; Michael and Christine Abbott of Stafford Springs; and Steven and Melissa Abbott of Ashford, her daughter Constance Abbott of Windsor, her seven loving grandchildren: Ashley and her husband Don-Christopher Hattin, Mike Abbott, Scott Abbott, Richard Marcial, Amanda Marcial, Sarah Abbott, and Meagan Abbott; six special great-grandchildren whom were her greatest joy: Zachary, Jacob, Addie Mae, Mya, Ian, Jayden, and one that is eagerly anticipated. Mary also leaves one brother, two sisters and numerous nieces, nephews, and their families. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a son Jason Abbott. Funeral services and burial in Buckland Cemetery, Manchester are private. There are no visiting hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Connecticut Children's Medical Center, 12 Charter Oak Place Hartford, CT. 06106. Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, Manchester has care of the arrangements.
