Mary Cios

1930 - 2023

Mary (Marchocka) Cios, 92, of Rocky Hill, died peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023. She was the beloved wife of the late Wladyslaw Cios. Born in Lwow, Poland, on April 6, 1930. She emigrated from Poland in 1965 and resided in Wethersfield for many years before moving to Rocky Hill. She retired from Keeney Manufacturing in 1994, and was a member of Holy Cross Church, New Britain. She enjoyed gardening, taking walks, and daily prayer but more than anything, she loved spending time with her family and caring for her grandchildren. A devoted mother, "Babci", and great grandmother, she leaves two sons and their wives, Zbigniew and Anna Cios, and Zdzislaw and Leanne Cios, all of Rocky Hill; her grandchildren, Deborah Reardon and husband David of Cheshire, Daniel Czyzewski and wife Lauren of Newington, Steven Cios and wife Heather of South Glastonbury, Ryan Cios of Rocky Hill and Shelby Cios of Stafford Springs; and three great grandchildren, Benjamin and Emilyn Reardon and Sofia Cios. She was predeceased by her husband Walter, and daughter Janina Czyzewski. The family sends a special thank you to the staff of Maple View Manor. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, Jan. 22, 2023, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Jan. 23, 2023, at 10:00 am at Holy Cross Church, 31 Biruta St., New Britain. She will be laid to rest beside Wladyslaw in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at act.alz.org.
