Mary Sward Obituary

Mary Calabro Sward, 79, of Hilltop Drive in Southington, died Sunday, (February 9, 2003) at Bradley Memorial Hospital. She was the beloved wife for 51 years of George Sward. Born in Meriden, August 23, 1923, daughter of the late Salvatore and Helena Katsanos Calabro, she had been a Southington resident for the past 30 years. Mary was a homemaker. She loved ceramics and in her later years enjoyed playing the slot machines at the Mohegan Sun. In addition to her husband, George; she leaves a son and daughter-in-law, George and Doreen Sward, Jr. of Southington; two daughters and their husbands, Donna and Paul Morin of Southington and Sherri and Jeff Beaulieu of New Hampshire; two brothers, Frank and Salvatore Calabro, both of Meriden; a sister, Elva Hackley of Branford; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four children from a prior marriage, Fred, Roy and Marilyn Crocker and Carol Palumbo. Funeral Services are TODAY, February 11, 11:30 a.m., at the Plantsville Memorial Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville.
