Maryanne Gorneault Obituary

Maryanne J. (Sapko) Gorneault, 84, passed away peacefully at home on August 31, 2023. She was born in New Britain in 1938 to the late Frank & Helen (Ogonowski) Sapko. After attending schools and graduating in New Britain, she was married to the late Roger Gorneault, where they raised their 4 children in Avon and later retired in Unionville. Maryanne is survived by her children Norman of Granby, Patricia Duval of MD, Rachel Anderson of Farmington and the late Jacqueline Lee. She also leaves 6 grandchildren, Arianna Gorneault of Torrington, Carl and Casey Moyers of Torrington, Shauntelle (William) Jackson of TN, Michael (Kaylyn) Duval of Granby and Justus Anderson of West Hartford. Her legacy also includes 6 great-grandchildren: Zion, Judah and Sahara Jackson & Zechariah, Nathaniel and Azalia Duval. Surviving also are her 6 siblings: Frank Sapko (former wife Kathy, who will always have a special place in his heart) of New Britain, Eleanor Sapko (Sherry Allen) of Portland ME, Eileen Sapko of New Britain, Evelyn Sapko of Southington, James (Laura) Sapko of Chino Valley AZ, and Lorraine (Ron) Muzzulin of New Britain. The family would like to thank the McLean Hospice home team for the compassion and attention to Maryanne and her family. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 22nd at 2:00pm at the River Valley Christian Center, 12 Eastview Dr, Farmington, CT
