Maurice "Moe" Roy Sr.

Maurice "Moe" Roy Sr., 73, of Vernon, loving husband of 53 years to Lourene (Thibodeau) Roy, passed away peacefully at St. Francis Hospital on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 with his family at his side. Born in Ft. Kent Mills, Maine, the son of the late Philemon and Isabelle (Corriveau) Roy, he grew up and lived in Maine and Hartford before moving to Vernon thirty-five years ago. Prior to his retirement in 2007, Maurice was employed by Colt Firearms in Hartford for over 30 years. He was a member of the Church of the Living God in Manchester, and the TKB Club in Vernon. Maurice enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and playing cards. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Maurice Roy Jr. and his wife Lisa of Ellington, Bruce Roy of Vernon, and Tammy Aquilino and her husband Robert of Colchester; four grandchildren, Ashley Field and her husband Eric, Amanda Webster and her husband Russell, and Justin and Jennifer Roy; a great grandson, Ryan Webster; his sister, Bertha Ouellette of Presque Isle, Maine and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Beatrice Roy and his brother Roger Roy. His family will receive friends for calling hours on Friday, October 5, 2018 from 3 – 6 p.m. followed by a funeral service beginning at 6 p.m. at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), Vernon.
