EVERETT, Michael
On June 20th, the world lost a great father, husband, friend, son and brother, Michael Everett. Born and raised in West Hartford, CT, Michael spent his early years exploring many passions and opportunities before landing on a career in the culinary arts. Michael focused that passion on becoming an outstanding chef. Whether it was his restaurant or in one of the many places where he worked, Michael could always be seen in the kitchen making even the simplest meal seem like a grand entre. Michael honed his skills to become one of the most recognized chefs' in the Hartford area. He received numerous awards for his culinary skills and talents. In his free time he used his culinary skills to host great events at his home. Whether it was a barbeque around the pool, Sunday get togethers or Christmas dinner, Michael always wanted to be sure people were happy, comfortable and of course "well fed." Nothing was ever simple, duck, goose, pheasant along with his famous barbequed ribs, hamburgs, hot dogs and potato salad could be found lavishly presented at the table. Michael loved his family and spent his time at home with his wife Donna, son Michael "Patrick" and his daughter Brittany. He was proud of their accomplishments and could often be seen promoting Donna's cake business or flying his plane with her to Montauk for a sunset dinner, sitting in the woods while Michael was trail riding or visiting Brittany at college or abroad. You could also find him each day walking his beloved "Roscoe" in the Haddam Meadows. Besides his family, Michael leaves behind his mother, Mary Anne Everett, siblings, Rusty, Jim and Lori along with many friends and colleagues. "When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure."
A memorial service will be held on July 11, 2011 at 1 pm., St. Joseph's Church, Rt. 154, Chester, CT with a reception to follow at the Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station, Haddam, CT. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Michael's memory and his buddy "Roscoe", at the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd, Newington, CT 06111 or online at http://www.cthumane.org.

Dear Donna and family,
We were saddened to hear of Michael's passing. Nearly seventeen years ago, Michael and Donna were the chefs and amazing director at our wedding reception at my
parents home. It was a wonderful day made extraordinary by Michael's special touches and attention to detail. Many people still talk about our wedding and we're always grateful to both Michael and Donna for being there to make our day so special. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers and we still think of you both with loving memories.
