MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS TO DAYLE AND METRO AND ALL OF MIKE'S LOVED ONES. HONDO WILL TRULY BE MISSED. MIKE WAS TRULY GREAT WHEN IT CAME TO BEING A POSITIVE ROLE MODEL FOR THE MANY YOUTH THAT HE TOUCHED IN HIS SHORT LIFE. HE TAUGHT ME TO SHOOT A BASKETBALL ON SATURDAY MORNINGS BACK IN 1969. NOBODY TAUGHT US TO LAUGH MORE AT OUR WINS AS WELL AS OUR LOSSES. HIS LEGEND WILL LIVE ON IN ALL OF US WHO KNEW HIM. HAVING FOUR SMALL CHILDREN OF MY OWN NOW, I CAN ONLY HOPE TO INFLUENCE JUST A FRACTION OF WHAT MIKE WAS ABLE TO ACCOMPLISH. HE WILL TRULY BE MISSED.

We have truly lost a wonderful man! During our last visit, he said he wasn't sure if he regretted not having children. After all, there is so much horror in the world these days.I told him to stop and think of all of his 'children' who he has touched in his life. And all of the positive changes he's made in others lives. He smiled and agreed. He was a father to many of us, offering unconditional love and caring. Words alone cannot express the love and thankfulness I have in my heart for this wonderful man. He will never be forgotten by those who knew and loved him dearly!! I'm so sorry to his family for their loss, and to the Terryville community who loved him as much as he has always loved us!
