GUTOWSKI, Michael Alan
Michael Alan Gutowski, known to all his friends as "Your Ol' Pal Al", died peacefully on June 7, 2011, after his battle with cancer. He was born in New Britain, Connecticut, but lived the last 31 years in Golden, Colorado. He was 65 years old. I am so proud of how he lived, and died. Alan lived his life on this earth the way he wanted to, and he left it the same way, with dignity. He is my big brother, and I will always love him and be proud of him. Alan is the most straightforward, loyal and honest man you could ever meet. He never made a friend he couldn't keep. His body will be cremated, as he wished. His best friend Joe will scatter Alan's ashes in the Atlantic Ocean where he spent some of the happiest times of his life fishing with his buddies. He loved riding his motorcycle, and his lifelong hobby was building and flying model airplanes. My big brother leaves behind his sweetheart Becky; our older brother Barry; our younger sister Nancy; and myself...Jan-Ellen, and my husband Robert and our daughter Kelly. He also leaves his ex-wife Diane and daughter Kimmy. Pre-deceasing him were his Dad Carl and his second wife Lucille; our mother Dorothy; our younger sister Laurel-Mary; and the baby of the family Scott-William.
If anyone wants to honor my brother's life and passing, please donate something to The American Cancer Society. If you do, please tell them it's "In Memory of Your 'Ol Pal Al". I think he would like that very much.

It's been 14 years since you went on ahead of me, and not a single day goes by that I don't think of you. Just yesterday I was remembering how when you were 14, I pestered you to give me a ride on the bar of your English bike. We rode as far as Billy Litski's house. And that memory started a cascade of memories. Helping you lug your 1rst motorcycle you ever bought (1968 BSA) up from the shed under the back porch every day before school. And the time you took your Honda GoldWing on the cross country trip up to Akaska in 1979.
Funniest memory was you buying your first pair of bike leathers. I remember you complaining how hot they were to wear & how they made you sweat. Those things reeked & could literally stand up on their own when the sweat dried. And you ended up throwing them out...lol.

You will be in my heart always. I will always remember all the good times we shared. Even though we couldn't seem to live together I always thought of you and now feel a very big loss in my life. I'm sure we will see each other soon. Luv Diane

Al - Here you are still giving me a hard time getting on the website. This is my 4th try so here goes.
Lou and I miss you so very much. We were the best of friends since we were 13 years old. What fun we had back then and now. I will always be grateful to you for what you did for Lou and I, we will be married 44 years July 6th. I no Lou considers you his best friend and his heart is broken and I feel exactly the same way. Remember - you promised me a sign once you passed over. I'll be in Aruba in 3 weeks, I will be waiting for that rainbow and then I will know for sure that you are still in our hearts and your spirit has been left with no pain.
You will remain in our hearts and prayers always - until we all meet again - save me that beach chair and drink in Aruba - we will catch up someday.
Love, Lou and Mary Beth
