HESLIN, Michael Francis
Michael Francis Heslin, 51, of Plainville, passed away at his home on Saturday, (July 7, 2012). Mike was born on October 2, 1960, one of seven children to Beverly (Kelley) Heslin of Plainville and the late Griffin "Corky" Heslin. He was a proud lifelong resident, having a special fondness for his hometown, and was a 1979 graduate of Plainville High School. He held a longtime career in truck driving, and quickly became the official designated driver of his many friends and family as he made coffee his drink of choice. A kind and simple man of few words, he had a love for the outdoors, going camping and sitting around a fire, listening to country western and watching NASCAR. Mike, above all, was a proud father, sharing many special times with his beloved Emma, playing cards, cheering her on at her swim meets, and "following the moon." He will be greatly missed by his family and many dear friends. In addition to his mother, Beverly, he leaves his adored daughter, Emma, and her mother, Mary Glynn, both of Plainville; his brothers and sisters, Griffin and his wife, Donna Lee of Terryville, Lee Ann Korus and her husband, Kenneth of Burlington, Teresa, Patrick, William, and Mary Heslin, all of Plainville; his beloved nieces and nephews, Merissa, Jenna, Linnea, Erin, Dillon, Robert, Braylon, Jacob, and Jordan; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and countless friends.
A celebration of Mike's life will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad St, Plainville, followed by committal services at West Cemetery. Family and friends may gather on Wednesday evening, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Mike may be remembered with contributions to the Emma Heslin Education Fund, c/o Farmington Bank, 117 East St, Plainville, CT 06062.
