Dear Joanie, girls, and to all of Mike's family:
I write this message to you with a sad heart and tears for the loss of my friend. Mike was an original "goof-ball", just like myself. No wonder when I first met him at Scan Optics we hit it off as friends. He made everyone feel welcome and would always make people laugh (even the boss couldn't keep a straight face when he wanted to chew us out for whatever reason). Mike was just plain loveable! He was NEVER mean to anyone. He really helped to cheer me up many a day at work when I was having a tough time in my personal life. It was in part because of Mike that I became such good friends with Harry. I've always treasured the fun times at your house when everyone would get together, play music & sing enjoying each others company. I didn't know that Mike had passed until my friend Jeanie called and told me about it the other day. (Jean used to hang out with you Joanie in high school.) I pray that God will comfort you and your families and that he will continue to bless you always. Peace be with you all. :o(

Joanie--and family, I'm so very sorry for your loss of Mike. It was a tremendous shock, since I was unaware of his health problems. Both of you have been good neighbors for so long, and your Mom and Dad before that.
Mike was a great guy--always so friendly and helpful when Chuck couldn't do things, and for me, too, after I lost him. I appreciate it.
I had hoped to talk with you, but flew back home Thurs. It just seemed everytime I went to come over--you drove out!
Please know that my deepest sympathy is with you, the girls, Dolores, Warren and the rest of the family, but hope that eventually you will find peace in the Lord.

My sister MaryAnn (Morris) Eldridge Emailed me as well about Mikes passing. I remember when they would practice, practice, practice with their band years ago. I think I have some pics still somewhere of Mike, Joe, Jeff and MaryAnn. They loved what they did and regretfully didn't continue. Keep the faith and know that Mike is having a grand old time in heaven making music. MaryAnn's Sister Debbie

My sister Suzann sent me a copy of Michael's obituary, because I haven't lived in Connecticut in so many years she wanted to be sure I knew of his passing. She knew how close we had been years ago. Michael lived next door to me when I was a kid. We were almost inseparable. I can still remember his tremendous sense of humor, and quick smile. He was without a doubt my best friend right up through high school.

Steven and Michael and I became big motorcycle riders, and took weekend trips to Rhode Island, even during the gas crisis of the 70s. It seemed as if we lived on our motorcycles. Steven had his Harley, Michael rode Steve's old Triumph and I had the lowly little Yamaha to putt around on.

Those were very good times.

Michael and I even took a road trip together to visit my grandfather in Florida when we were teenagers. We only saw each other once after that trip I'm sorry to say. I moved to New York City, then on to Florida. I have never really gotten back to Connecticut much in the years since then.

I still consider Michael to be one of my best friends. I'm only sorry that I haven't stayed in touch over the years and been a better friend to him.

I wish you all well, and extend my warmest wishes in this difficult time to Warren, Delores and Susan. I remember you all well, and think of you often.
